Family Participation

Families are an integral part of our program. Whether observing or volunteering in class, attending Parent-Teacher Organization meetings or chaperoning on field trips, you are encouraged to become involved with the Preschool.

Parent Communication

Parents are encouraged to observe their child's participation. If you have a hobby, skill, song or family tradition you would like to share, we invite you to do so. Please schedule classroom visits in advance with your child's teacher. All parents visiting the buildings need to sign in at the office before proceeding to the classroom. All volunteers must fill out a Criminal Offense Record Investigation (CORI) form prior to working with students. CORI forms are available through the Pupil Services Office for the Acton Site and at the Blanchard office for the Boxborough Site. CORI forms are not available online.

Each teacher provides a weekly newsletter, blog or digital communication that contains information about curriculum, class events, upcoming field trips, class songs and favorite cooking recipes. Daily or weekly communication notebooks are also used for some children, particularly those with special needs.

Pre-COVID, the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) was an important way for the preschool community to remain connected, however, it has lapsed over the last two years. The move to a new building and the joining of two sites is a nice opportunity to reimagine the PTO. To contact the PTO to brainstorm activities and ideas for the coming school year please send an email to [email protected]

You can also request to join them on Facebook at Carol Huebner Preschool PTO.
